Intercountry Adoptions (A/ Govt - NSW)

There is a Cwlth - State/Territory Intergovernmental Agreement for the continued operation of Australia's intercountry adoption program made in June 2008. 

As part of the implementation of the 2005 Overseas Adoption in Australia Report by the House of Representatives Standing Committee on Family and Human Services, under Clause 20 of the Agreement Ministers agreed that the CDSMAC and any working group it determines will progress a program of work covering harmonisation of intercountry adoptions legislation, fees and administrative procedures, and investigation of alternative models for  the operation and administration of intercountry adoption in Australia.  Clause 21 provides that CDSMAC will report on the outcome of this program to inform the development of the next Agreement between the Cth and the States on intercountry adoption.

Each group is ongoing to the extent they have a task to do and will report their outcomes to CDSMAC.  Once their objectives are achieved I they will report and wrap up.  They are not time limited per se.
